1970
Humble Beginnings in Fiji

The journey began over 50 years ago in a backyard chicken shed in Nausori, Fiji. The late Mr. Ram and Mrs. Walliamma Sami built a life from those modest beginnings, starting a small business that would eventually become the largest egg producer in the country. Those early decades were defined by the grit and daily effort required to keep a family dream alive. Values forged in that backyard traveled with the family across the Pacific and remain the steady force for the Group today.

1993
Foundations in South Auckland

Chairperson Arjun Sami branched out to New Zealand in the early 1990s to find fresh ground for his ambitions. He built a presence in South Auckland by opening supermarkets in Ōtara in 1993 and Māngere in 1999. Managing these stores provided him with invaluable insights into community needs, retail management, and supply chain operations. The years spent on the shop floor eventually turned his attention toward the physical spaces where businesses grow. He moved into the property and construction sector with a perspective shaped by those early retail days.

2000
Transitioning to Property and Establishment of Landmarx

The year 2000 marked the start of Landmarx Development, as the family transitioned from retail into the development and construction industry. Residential projects began with boutique, focused builds before growing into expansive subdivisions. Direct experience on greenfield and brownfield sites sharpened the team's technical skills. Lessons from those formative years gave the Group the strength to deliver hundreds of high-quality projects at a significant scale. Infrastructure work soon followed, establishing the reliable presence the Group maintains in the property market today.

The First Major Subdivision

Papakura became the setting for a major shift during the Redhill Development. The project transformed the business as the Group applied years of preparation to deliver its first 260-lot residential subdivision. Completion of the project proved the business could handle rapid growth without losing its focus on quality. Redhill remains the milestone that showed the group was ready for the next level of complexity. Success in new markets built the momentum for the large-scale projects the group manages today.

2006
A Tribute to the Founders

Ramwall Homes became the official name in 2006 as a tribute to Ram and Walliamma Sami. Company identity stays rooted in early heritage, which turns every new project into a reflection of deep-seated values. Projects today focus on longevity, aiming to provide stable and quality homes for families well into the future.

Evolving into an Integrated Group

The Ramwall Group started with a single focus on development, but the vision quickly outgrew the initial blueprint. Today, the business operates as a unified platform that follows a site through its entire lifecycle. Operations now span development, construction, investment, and long-term asset ownership. Expansion into these areas allows the Group to think in decades rather than months, bringing a steady hand to every project. Decisions are guided by the need for resilience, favoring builds that stand strong through shifting markets. The identity of the Group remains tied to the lasting value it provides to the people and communities it serves.

Purpose Through Wellness Living

Wellness Living emerged as the next major chapter, moving the Group’s focus toward housing that intentionally supports the residents. Early projects like Toitoi Living and Notre Dame Living put these principles into practice, creating spaces where residents feel a true sense of belonging. Evolution from standard building to community-centered design now defines the Group’s daily work. Homes are built with a deep responsibility toward the long-term health and connection of every neighborhood within the Wellness Living portfolio.

Originally launched as Landmarx Development in 2000 and rebranded in 2006 as Ramwall Homes, as a tribute to parents - Ram Sami and Walliamma Sami, founders of Ram Sami and Sons Limited - Fiji's largest egg producer and distributor since 1970.
